Jolyon Johnson, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. Jolyon Johnson, our Chief of Staff, founded Wendell Veterinary Clinic in 1978. A Sunapee native, he grew up here and still lives here today. He attended the University of New Hampshire for his undergraduate degree, and Cornell University for his veterinary degree. He has also practiced at the Middletown Animal Hospital in Middletown, CT.
All aspects of general veterinary medicine appeal to Dr. Johnson, especially surgery and client support. He has dedicated nearly 40 years to providing quality, affordable veterinary care to all of his clients. He aspires to provide the best services possible, and believes that every caring person should be able to have the special bond that comes with a companion animal.
Allen Wachter, DVM
Dr. Allen Wachter received a DVM degree from Cornell University in 1981. He brings to Wendell Veterinary Clinic 33 years of veterinary medicine and surgical experience. Prior to joining our team in March 2015, he co-owned the Animal Hospital of Sullivan County (Ferndale, NY), and also practiced at Valley Veterinary Associates (Sidney, NY), Connecticut Veterinary Center - E/R (Hartford, CT), and Abundance of Care Veterinary Hospital (Monticello, NY).
Dr. Wachter recently retired as an associate professor at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Delhi. In addition to his veterinary career, Dr Wachter is also a Fullbright Scholar. He has an interest in geriatric veterinary medicine, preventive veterinary care, as well as ophthalmology. Dr. Wachter has always believed and practiced following the motto: Pets, People and Service, and believes strongly in the human-animal bond.
Patrick Connor, DVM
Dr. Patrick Connor is a Kearsarge Regional High school graduate and area-native. He received his Animal Science degree from the University of New Hampshire, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received his DVM degree from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in Gainesville, Florida after falling in love with the horse and cattle pastures of agricultural North-Central Florida.
Dr. Connor has been practicing companion animal and large animal medicine in New Hampshire since 2011 focusing primarily on small animal surgery, internal medicine and preventative healthcare. Dr. Connor also owns and operates a private Equine Veterinary practice focusing on Acupuncture in addition to general equine ambulatory medicine and surgery.
Genevieve Lockerby, DVM
Dr. Genevieve (Genni) Lockerby was born and raised in New England in the state of Vermont. She received her undergraduate degree locally from Colby-Sawyer College with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Following graduation she worked in Boston for the Center of Comparative Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Lockerby then pursued her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University on the little island of St. Kitts located in the West Indies. To finish her education she performed a year long clinical rotation at Purdue University in Indiana.
Currently, Dr. Lockerby resides in New London with her cat, Dorian Gray, who she took home as a souvenir from the island of St. Kitts. True to Vermont fashion, she loves both maple syrup and the outdoors.
